So I was over at my friend Petunia Green Bean's Blog yesterday and found this xtranormal video that Live Green Mom made that literally had me laughing all day long. If you are a mom who is trying to create a greener family, I think you will laugh your ass off too!

Making these xtranormal videos looks like a blast. Laughing is my second favorite pastime and these videos are feeding my addiction! Check this next one out and tell me if you can't totally relate?

Okay, enough green mommy giggles, it is time to get back to my main gig...raising my girlies. I LOVE spending so much time with my daughters when they are on break from school. Our vacation was a blast last week and now that Summer is officially here, I am officially on a 3 day work week...and officially not getting ANY work done!! :)

3 Ways to Turn Your Cocktail Party Green! Plus an Organic Wine Pairing for Asparagus Sticks in Filo: Chateau Laubarit Entre-Deux-Mers Blanc

If you have ever wondered how to turn your cocktail party green I can help. I reached out to one of our Environmental Booty partners, The Organic Wine Company, and asked if they could point us in the right direction on a wine pairing for one of my go to green living recipes for entertaining, Asparagus Sticks in Filo. Is it Phyllo or Filo, I don't know but this is an easy to make and truly fabulous treat to eat!!

First, let's talk about the organic wine pairing for our healthy green living h'orderves suggested by The Organic Wine Company:

As Scientists Warn of Chemical Autism Link, The National Conversation on Public Health and Chemical Exposures Outlines Action Agenda to Ensure Chemical Safety for Americans. Monsanto Says they Must do a Better Job

Did you know that, even though we are exposed every day to hundreds of chemicals, the U.S. government currently does not have a system in place to protect us from the harmful ones ? Kind of frightening huh? Well we all have a reason to look to the future with hope because of a new “action agenda” emerging from a two-year national conversation led by government, nonprofit and industry organizations. I have been taking part in many of these public chemical conversations and am happy to announce that, just as scientists warn of a chemical autism link, an action agenda has been created.

Thinking that my little Hayden-Jay was born with GE toxins makes me angry

As Monsanto asserts that GM crops are safe, a new study by independent Canadian doctors, heightens concern. Genetically modified crops include genes extracted from the bacterial toxin Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) to make them resistant to pest attacks. These genes make crops toxic to pests but Monsanto claims that they to pose no danger to the environment and human health. The study points in a different direction.

"All this time, Monsanto has based its assertion that crops engineered to contain the bacterial toxin, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), are harmless on an assumption that the toxin breaks down in the digestive system and so never enters the rest of the body. Regulators have been repeating this to us for over a generation. Now it turns out that the Bt toxin is not only surviving in our guts, but is making its way on into our bloodstreams — and if we’re pregnant, into the soon-to-be-babies in our bellies." -Marcia Ishii-Eiteman, PAN America

So how can you stay safe and keep your unborn baby safe? Because GMO's are in so much of our food supply, and none of it has to be labeled (yet), the best thing you can do, is to eat organic as much as possible. It is as simple as that.
